Alpine
Trails (15, 26 or 36 miles)
From Hathersage you will pass through Bamford
and cross the the Ladybower reservoir to the Upper
Derwent Reservoirs. This fantastic trail takes
you round the banks of the Ladybower, Derwent
& Howden reservoirs, famous for being the
place where 617 ‘Dambusters’ squadron
tested the bouncing bomb. The reservoirs blend
in perfectly with the surrounding hills carpeted
in alpine woodland. The longer route also takes
in the charming villages of Hope & Castleton
which has a number of fine country pubs, 3 show
caverns & an 11th century Norman castle.

Historic
Villages (21 miles)
Travelling South you will pass through Grindleford
to the infamous plague village of Eyam, which
has a number of interesting buildings including
the 17th century manor house at Eyam Hall. Away
from Eyam takes you through rolling fields criss
crossed by row upon row of drystone walls through
the pretty village of Foolow. You will continue
past St Peters Stone to Litton before arriving
at the ancient village of Tideswell, known locally
as ‘Cathedral of the Peak’ because
of its imposing 13th century church. You will
continue through Great Hucklow to an amazing ridge
at Bretton before a memorable descent through
Abney & back to Hathersage.

Limestone
Beauty (20 miles)
This is an easy / moderate ride mostly along quiet
country lanes with a few sections on gravel tracks
& trails. Leaving Biggin you will pass through
the ancient village of Hartington and continue
along gently undulating country lanes to Alstonefield,
an area which is very popular with walkers. You
will continue along quiet country lanes the picture
postcard scenary at Dovedale & the beautiful
architecture at Ilam. You will continue to the
charming village of Tissington, famous for the
distinctive 500 year old hall & the ancient
tradition of Welldresing. The flat traffic free
bridleway takes you back to to your starting point
at Biggin.

Group
Tours
If you enjoy the company of others
while you cycle and/or walk then our group tours
offer just that. Groups are between 6-14 which
allows the group to bond more easily & is
less disruptive to the local community. Tours
are led by a local leader who knows the area well
& will be on hand to answer any questions
which you may have as well as helping with any
cycling advice.
Your tour leader cycles and/or
walks with you for the morning of each days tour
and leaves the afternoon free for you to follow
the suggested route as a group or detour to some
of the many interesting destinations available.
The price includes luggage transfer between each
overnight stop.
All prices are based on 2 people
sharing either a twin or double room. If you would
like to book a single supplement please state
this on the booking form & we will contact
you to discuss prices & availablity. Most
places we will stay are small family run B&B's
& guesthouses so please book early as single
rooms are often limited.
