Customer Testimonials

We are always pleased to get feedback from our customers. Here are a selection of comments we have received over the years:

We had brilliant accommodation, couldn’t fault any place.

This was my first Peak Tour ride, but it certainly won’t be my last, the organisation was/is excellent. There was always a relaxed feeling and of being part of a family.

I can’t wait to do my next one … thought there are too many to choose from!

I’d be surprised if there was a better cycling tour company out there.

The tour was fantastic, it met all my expectations. I will be back next year (probably on the France tour)

Angus Bantock, June 2018

I guess Peak Tours has a good relationship with all the landlords of the accommodations as we received excellent service throughout – well done to Peak Tours!

I thoroughly enjoyed the route, and although D2D was ‘billed’ by Peak Tours as more difficult than LEJOG, I am not convinced, i.e. I still think LEJOG is more challenging than D2D.

I think the group size of 21 riders (plus one spouse) worked well, and having been on three rides with Peak Tours, I tend to think 20-25 is about the right number.

It was an excellent group that jelled, and so that enhanced the holiday!

We received excellent support from the office for which I am very grateful. You have a superb personalised and efficient approach – with good humour, and I think that is a winning combination!

Having cycled LEJOG 2015, France 2016, missed Italy due to ill health in 2017, and cycled D2D 208, I must say this was an excellent tour in every respect! I think Peak Tours really does have a winning formula, and I do hope that you will continue to cater for older cyclists as we decline in our latter years.

I can't praise Peak Tours enough for the wonderful D2D I have just enjoyed. Very well crafted and imaginative route, great Guides (Tina, Daryl, Tony, Johnny) and superb, very professional organisation - especially when the weather intervened at Settle. (Those of us within striking distance are going back to fill that section in). I think one of the keys to a great success is The Brew Wagon, which splits long, challenging days up into four manageable sections and ensures we all take on calories and fluids to defeat The Bonk. The personalities of The Guides is not second in importance; they work so hard and are full of encouragement and cheerfulness. I renamed the D2D as Dawn 2 Dusk and Tina, Daryl, Tony and Johnny were grafting from D2D in both senses. I learned such a lot about the country I was brought up in - especially in the South - and the nostalgia on re-visiting the far Northwest brought tears to my eyes. I could say a lot more but I mustn't go on . . . . . ...
See you Monday to pick up the bike.

All the B&B’s and hotels were excellent. Clean and comfy beds, tea/coffee making facilities, lovely bathrooms and great breakfasts.

Day 2 was the hardest by far but offered the best views.

A wonderful array of treats from the van and a great cuppa made for us by your excellent staff.

It was extremely well-planned and everything ran smoothly.

What superb guides. They provided enough input and still treated everyone with the utmost respect and sensitivity.

Ann Wilson, 3 Day Aug 2017

Romantic scenery, quiet roads and generally well signposted. The tour was very well organised. The brew and lunch stops were in the right places. We always had good instructions for the day.

Paula Wood 4 Day Sept 2017

Group size: Just right because we all went with small groups and sometimes found yourself with a different group which made it good to make friends with all the group.

Stephen Taylor 4 Day Sept 2017

The ride provided constant views and was a pleasure, ever-changing light, weather and company. It offered challenges for inexperienced cyclists but these were achievable with effort, which just helped the sense of achievement at the end of the day. The quiet roads selected were fantastic and really added to the experience.

Really detailed and must have taken a lot of time to compile. Thank you! It was great to have these beforehand too.

Superb, everything went smoothly, at least from my perspective. It was such a pleasure just to ride and choose food knowing we were supported by experienced and friendly tour leaders.

As above, the combination of the personalities in the team worked really well. Graham was constantly smiling and everything was ‘brilliant’. He adjusted my gears at the end of day 1, and gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble.

I had 2 punctures on the last day and Dave took a lot of time to help us, always with a smile and a relaxed manner. Hamish was also really considerate with the whole group. The balance the 3 guides achieved between being present and accessible was perfect.I think having the backup took all of the strain out of the holiday, which is why we didn’t do it independently.

I have recommended the tour to friends already. Your company deserves success and the praise and repeat bookings it receives.

I loved the tour experience, the mix of people, the challenge and the whole spirit, which was set by the team and their relaxed, supportive way of being with everyone. Well done Peak Tours!!! Can I work for you? ???

Jane Harris, 4 Day Sept 2017

Had a wonderful time, haven’t hesitated to recommend Peak Tours

Keith Parkinson, 4 Day Sept 2017

Outstanding. To cross the country with minimal traffic interaction is remarkable.

The brew van is brilliant. When tired I soon learned to see a mirage of the red van oasis.

Can’t wait for my next one.

Steve Moorby, 4 Day Sept 2017

Generally the standard of accommodation was excellent.

Beautiful, well planned scenic route, loved cycling past farmers fields.

Excellent, very well organised. All the tour guides were excellent. Very knowledgeable and considerate. Great fun too! Have already recommended Peak Tours to my friends. Keep up the good work!

Michelle Borrell, 4 Day Sept 2017

Hats off to Tony and Paul – great job!

Bob Graham October 3 Day 2017

Excellent. Challenging climbs, especially the one out of Settle – real killer that one. I have used Peak Tours before and the food stops were excellent – same service provided here. I would recommend Peak Tours to any cyclist.

Les Allen 4 Day September 2017

Thanks for a wonderful WOTR. Graham, Hamish and Dave could not have been more professional, sensitive to us all and courteous at all times. It was a pleasure to be on the trip. I felt comfortable and safe at all times.

I will definately recommend Peak Tours.

Ann Wilson 4 Day September 2017

Would definitely book again and have already recommended to several friends

Emma Flanagan Pure Peak District Tour 2017

Welcoming and pretty rooms. Good breakfast too! Very enjoyable overall, thank you!

Sara Simon, Pride and Prejudice Country 2017

Absolutely unique and gorgeous country combining wonderful scenery with delightful villages. Walking through pastures, up and over ridges, along ancient bridleways – completely unique experience not found in the U.S. More rugged than we expected, given the lower elevations – luckily we are in decent fitness and a very kind person and all transfers/meet ups worked perfectly. The package of materials and OS maps was really good and allowed us to just set off in a totally unfamiliar landscape.

We thoroughly enjoyed the combination of beauty, fun and challenge. Thanks for putting this together.

Heidi and Dan Koester, High Peak Rambler 2017

I have been on a variety of self-guided walking and cycling tours in both the UK and Europe with a number of different tour companies and I can sincerely say that Peak Tours has been one of the best. Both in terms of organisation, support material, selected routes and value for money. I really cannot find fault with any aspect of the tour. Honestly feel as if it had been created on a bespoke basis to my personal specification. Will obviously not be to everyone’s subjective taste but for me it could not have been any better for your perspective. Well done!

J McAra, Glacial Gorges 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour, you have devised a beautiful route. The view from Win Hill was stunning.
