Cycling is a fantastic way to see an area. Not only are you keeping fit in an environmentally friendly manner but you are able to cover a good distance & really get a feel for the places you visit.
The Peak District offers some fabulous & diverse scenery and travelling by bike allows you to cover much more ground than walking alone. How difficult or easy a tour is depends very much on individual opinion however all tours are graded to give you an idea of what to expect from a tour.
You can choose to travel light & have your luggage transported for you between overnight stops or alternatively, carry your luggage with you in the panniers provided, which are mounted on a rear rack.
All tours are self led which allows you to travel at your own pace & stop when you wish. You are provided with bikes & equipment (panniers, bar bags, helmets etc), maps, local information & history, detailed route notes & an emergency back-up number in the unlikely event that you require assistance.

Historic Villages & Alpine Trails
Lying on the edge of the Dark & White Peak areas of the Peak District Hathersage is perfectly placed to explore the best of the National Park. This tour comprises two contrasting rides which take you around the banks of the Upper Derwent reservoirs to the north which has a much more rugged feel. Your journey south takes you through numerous limestone villages with the chance to sample some great food at the many country pubs on offer.
Heart of the Peak
This unique tour combines some of the Peak District's best known attractions with numerous hidden gems best discovered by bike. From the attractive spa town of Buxton to the more rugged crags around Stanage this tour takes you from the more gentle limestone hills of the White Peak through picturesque villages such as Youlgreave, Tideswell & Eyam to the glamorous surroundings of Chatsworth. The spectacular ridges around Castleton offer a different perspective as you venture further to the alpine slopes of the High Peak.
The Limestone Peak
Discover the fantastic Victorian resort of Matlock & Matlock Bath where you can take the cable car to the 'Heights of Abraham'. Pass through Cromford to join the High Peak Trail up to Middleton Top to join the Pennine Bridleway. This fantastic ride takes you to Hartington where you will stay in the magnificent 17th century manor house. You will continue through the attractive village of Youlgrave before arriving at Bakewell, with a chance to sample the delicious locally made pudding. Fantastic views & pretty limestone villages characterise the route through Tideswell to Eyam. Your final day takes you through the Chatsworth Estate where you will have the choice of two contrasting routes back to Matlock.
Rivers and Gorges of the White Peak
This gentle tour is based in the lovely village of Hartington. Set amongst the rolling green fields of Derbyshire's White Peak you will cycle along numerous traffic free bridleways & quiet country lanes to discover a number of unspoilt Peak District villages. Each days route has a number of alternatives if you wish to extend your ride & navigation is easy. This tour is suitable for anyone with limited cycling experience or anyone that would like a leisurely tour in some of the Peak Districts most scenic country.
Peak Family Tour
This tour is suitable for families because the majority of the route is along traffic free bridleways & the mileage each day is low. However this tour is suitable for anyone with limited cycling experience. Your 1st day takes you along the High Peak Trail to the ancient market town of Winster. Your second day in the saddle is mostly along quiet country lanes to the charming town of Ashbourne. Day 3 is almost entirely on bridleways back to your starting point.
High Peak Trails
This challenging tour ventures into some of the High Peak's remotest corners, from the high moors around Glossop to the crags & caverns of Castleton. Taking you to ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ country around Holmfirth this is our most northerly tour & perhaps the most spectacular in terms of views & vistas. You will pass the Peak's highest point Kinder Scout, scene of the 1932 mass trespass & skirt the edges of Ladybower reservoir where the bouncing bomb was tested for the ‘Dambusters’ during WWII.
White Peak Way
Departing from Buxton along the Pennine Bridleway provides a leisurely start to this tour as you cycle southwards to one of Derbyshire's finest old towns Ashbourne. Out of Ashbourne you will pass through the ancient village of Winster with its interesting market house and fine Georgian architecture. Passing through pretty Elton & Youlgreave you will continue to Bakewell with a chance to sample the locally made pudding. Venturing north through Castleton & back to Buxton provides a comprehensive tour of some of the White Peak's best known attractions.
The Ultimate Peak District Tour
This amazing tour starts in the historic High Peak village of Hathersage, nestling beneath a series of spectacular ridges and tors. A leisurely cycle to Castleton takes you around the alpine banks of the Upper Derwent Reservoirs, which blend in perfectly to the surrounding landscape. From Castleton you will continue through the historic village of Eyam before arriving at England's highest market town at Buxton, known for its rejuvenating Spa water. A fantastic trail south takes you through numerous historic limestone villages and through Derbyshire's best known dale, Dovedale, to Ashbourne. Your final day's ride to Matlock provides a fantastic end to this comprehensive tour.
