Overall, I would say, as usual, the tour was great, I really enjoyed the camaraderie and the tour lived up to its billing. The arrival at Geneva, despite trying to be derailed by French Air Traffic Control that didn’t happen, was very good. Tony was there and met me and Bob, where I re-acquainted myself with Simon Briers.

The hotels and the rooms I had were all very good, no issues or complaints there. I particularly liked the place in La Grave. My view in the morning was absolutely stunning (of the mountainside – just for clarity 🙂 ).

The route notes and Garmin were good, with the pre-tour information sheets being very useful. For anybody who is taking on the length of the climbs, and their severity, for the first time, it is important that they understand what they are getting into. I wasn’t feeling too good on the Galibier day, so bailed at the top of the Telegraph. However, Isabelle looked after me well.
